There is a new Shopify feature that I don’t think most people know about. It’s something that I can’t believe didn’t already exist and we’re really excited about it. There is nothing worse than having someone add something to your cart only to not go through with purchase. It’s so frustrating.

There are many reasons for it but one surefire way to reduce to number of people who bail is to shorten the process. Most people are buying just one item anyway, why make them add it to the cart and then checkout. Why not let them just buy it now, skip the cart all together. Well now they can.

A few things to keep in mind that had me a bit confused:

Make sure your theme is updated. This feature is pretty recent so if you’ve started your store more than a month ago you’ll need to update your theme first. This feature is installed by all themes in the official Shopify theme directory. If you have a third party theme sourced elsewhere you’ll need to ask them if they support this feature.

To turn the feature on you need to to access the product page specific opinions by selecting “Product pages” option from the dropdown at the top of the Shopify customizer.
