Hi, I’m Nick and I work here at teelaunch. For the blog I really wanted to start writing posts on exactly how to sell stuff (or more stuff) online. I could just repost content from the Shopify blog or talk about generic things like “sell on social media” or use “social proof” but I thought the best way to know what to tell you would be to actually sell some stuff.
A few months ago I created a store called sorta stupid. Over the holiday season I went from 0 sales to over 2500 (across etsy, amazon & ebay ). I sold a mix of things, some I made myself (Christmas ornaments) and teelaunch products (shirts, posters, mugs, and tote bags). It was actually quite a bit of fun coming up with the products and getting my store ready. The real fun started once I began making sales.
Did I get rich? Am I quitting my job? Nope, but I did make a bit of money (that I’m going to reinvest into my store) and gained some really good insights into selling things online. To do this I used very little paid advertising (a few dollars a day via etsy ads) and no special tricks. This experience was really eye opening and I hope to share what I’ve learned (and am still learning).
This isn’t one of those get rich selling stuff online kinda of things. I’m going to tell you what worked for me but that is no guarantee that it will work for you. The main point of these posts is to show you that it is possible for regular people with normal tools to start and grow an online business.
One of my favorite things about working at teelaunch is how teelaunch is a truly symbiotic business. The better you do, the better we do. So we really want you to do well and I’m going to do everything in my power to help make that happen.
Here are some things I plan on going over in the upcoming days:
- What niche
- Where to find designers
- Which products
- Where to sell your products
