Today we are happy to announce the addition of all over print tank tops to the teelaunch app. They come in sizes SM – 3XL and cost $15 each.

These tank tops are done a little differently than our current line of tank tops, these ones are printed via dye sublimation.

Dye sublimation printing is a full color, full-coverage printing technique. Artwork is printed onto a sheet of high-release paper then transferred onto a garment using heat and pressure. The dye particles convert into gas — known as sublimation — where they bond to the polyester fibers. The dye is absorbed by the fabric creating an extremely soft and comfortable feel.

Sublimated garment printing opens a whole new world of design possibilities that DTG/Screen Printing could only dream of achieving.

The entire garment is your canvas! This can be both exciting and intimating when creating designs.

Have a clear vision of what you want your finished product

When starting a design for a sublimated tank, try to envision how your design will look on a garment. This process can be a huge time saver as well as be beneficial for design placement.

You wouldn’t want to place the most important part of your design to show up in someone’s armpit would you?

Of course not! (Well… you might.)

Make good use of patterns

Maybe you don’t want your main design to cover the entire tank top.

Patterns are useful for making the rest of the design more dynamic and help with covering any extra blank space.

Patterns can also be used as the main design focus.

Keep the hero of the design centered with room to breathe

Whenever possible, try to keep the hero of your design centered with plenty of room between it and the seams of the garment.

Doing this will ensure the focus of your design will be intact and easily readable from longer distances.

One design file to rule them all

When making the design you only need to upload one graphic that works for all sizes. When creating your designs we suggest you create your design for the largest garment size (with plenty of room to breathe and the hero in the center of the design) that scales down well to smaller sizes.

We also suggest you create your files to a minimum of 150DPI to avoid poor resolution when transferred to the garment. Low quality imagery will print as such – we recommend avoiding low quality designs to achieve more desirable results.

Take advantage of the sublimation process

The possibilities are truly endless. Use the sublimation process to your full advantage. You have the power to create a new trend, a unique spin on an old classic, or bring to life an idea you have always had! Experiment with new designs and techniques that maximize the use of sublimation for you.

One thing to keep in mind

Sublimation is not perfect. There are a few things to keep in mind when designing to avoid unsatisfactory results.

Designs have the potential to shift up to 2 inches on press. This means aspects of your design may end up in undesired areas, so keep this in mind while creating your design.
